Furniture for Golden Swan 2010

Lady Christiana selected the indoor game of chess, and what better way than to present it on a period chessboard surrounded by two glastonbury chairs. The carvings, and furiture were all made by Lady Christiana prior to the Golden Swan and finished with almond oil, and bees wax for finishing. The chairs were not finish with a coat of almond oil and left to be natural.

Stoneware - by Thomas Denddy (Thomas of Appledore)

On a day back in September 20th 2010 was the start research on German stoneware from the 1500s, to be used as feast gear for the Golden Swan by Lady Christiana. The blue plates and a couple of blue bowls were made by Lady Christiana, under the instruction from Thomas, while the rest were made by Thomas. Artwork was supplied by Christiana, but all glasing and inprinting the artwork was done by Thomas. All stoneware was used at the Golden Swan event.

Costuming

For Golden Swan 2010 Christiana used two different costumes, but the main costume she would use for the round table talks, and disussions is shown below in its different stages of construction to completion. Christiana did not succeed in obtaining a high enough score, and this was due to no petticoat, to much sky referring to the laces and jewels and incorrect shoes for the period being represented. The patterns and base materials are historical accurate.

Renfrew

It is adviseable when one enters the Golden Swan to have at least one person stand in as a communicator between the judges, and general membership while one is in persona. Christiana did choose to use Lord Kasper, but due to mundane reasons this was change to as Lord Kasper moved to the Principality of Advacal (Sask). My lady Meredith would step into this position and act as Christiana's steward. Contained below are photos of Meredith the haln costuming and other works.

History of Christiana Elizabeth Constable is based on real history however the Christiana Elizabeth Constable persona is fictional character.

Note: Christiana has participated in Golden Swan 2009 and was accepted as a candidate for Golden Swan 2010, of which she did not make the swan status. Some problems did occur with the documentation of her persona, and these have not been changed in the documentation. One of these is when her Uncle Thomas was teaching when in fact it should have been Thomas wife or a private tutor.

Please use this site for research for your own persona, but please do not publish this site. Permission must be obtained for publication of this site.
